Unusual Victorian Filigree Jet and Onyx Cameo NecklaceYou and I know that so much of the cameo jewelry we run across is similar. My goal is always to bring you pieces that are rare or of a unique design. This cameo necklace fits that category beautifully. The center Victorian black cameo backing is either onyx or glass with a jet or celluloid bust. I do not know these materials well enough to say with certainty which is the case. The cameo is housed in an elaborate setting mounted onto a filigree pendant which is edged in prong black stones. It looks to be brass with a silver plate. The dainty stone bail and chain are brass. This is a lovely heirloom that you will love wearing. Since I cannot find a single piece like this in any of my reference guides, I'm on un-chartered ground on determining the book value of this necklace.
