In the 1950's Stanley Hagler started creating his own style jewelry, and continued until the early 1990's. He is known for his bold statement designs , and counted the Duchess of Windsor among his admiring clientele. He used the finest materials, including faux pearls handwired onto Russian goldplated filigree backing. Presented here, is an outstanding example of Hagler's detailed design work. This necklace measures 16-1/2" in total length. Each side of the necklace consists of two 5" rows of 3/8" amethyst colored glass beads. One side has a 3/4" filigree envelope box clasp, finished with a 3/4" pale salmon glass cabochon that looks as though it has a light glowing within. Suspended at the center are three amazing pendants, each measuring 1-1/2" wide x 3-3/4" long. Each pendant is a fabulous mixture of amethyst glass seed beads, tiny faux seed pearls, pale amethyst colored Venetian glass leaves, and brilliant chaton rhinestones, with a 3/4" iridescent, pale salmon cabochon nested within. The center pendant adds an additional 3/4" to the center length of the necklace at the neckline. All of these pieces are handwired to Russian goldplated filigree backing. The center pendant is marked "STANLEY HAGLER N.Y.C." on an oval cartouche, placing the date between 1983 and 1989. The amethyst glass beads have been hand-strung on silk thread and finished with a brass clip. The clipback earrings are almost a duplication of the necklace. The portion that covers the earlobe measures 1-1/2" wide x 1-1/2" high with a single 3/8" amethyst colored glass bead added at the base for a total height of 2". One earring is marked "STANLEY HAGLER N.Y.C." on a cartouche just below the clip. This set is in mint condition, and will be an excellent addition to your collection. Won't this be stunning for theatre, party, or pageant!
