Up on today’s auction, we have a gorgeous earring / necklace set that is adorned with luscious Larimar stones. Larimar, which is also referred to as "Stefilia's Stone", is a rare blue variety of pectolite which is found only in the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean Sea. Its coloration varies from white, light-blue, green-blue to deep blue. Larimar also comes in green and even with red spots, brown strikes etc. due to other matters and / or oxidation. But the more intense the blue and the contrasts in the stone, the higher and rarer is the quality. The blue color is photosensitive and fades with time if exposed to too much light and heat. All of these colors can be seen in this necklace / earring set that we are offering. The earrings are mounted atop a genuine Sterling Silver back with a simple hook closure. The Larimar stones are presented in a “teardrop” style and measure .75” in length and are about a .5” in width. Very lovely colors are seen throughout each earring. The necklace itself measures 15.5” in length and highlights a series of 5 luscious Larimar stones. All of the stones are mounted atop earrings are mounted atop a genuine Sterling Silver back. The 4 smaller stones measure 5/8” in length and are 7/16” in width. The center stone is the largest and measures 15/16” in length and is 9/16” in width.
