Hobe` Necklace and Earrings - Dark Blue Beads and CrystalsThis Hobe`necklace and earring set is elegantly done. The necklace has three strands of dark blue glass beads, which alternate with a clear cut crystal bead and a brass rondell of matching dark blue beads. The three strands of beads end with a cluster of three dark blue, prong-set navettes and two clear chaton rhinestones in goldtone setting. The necklace is finished with a final two strands of dark blue beads and clear crystal beads, and ornate brushed goldtone finding, the back of which is stamped Hobe`. One side ends with a hook and the other side has another 3" of extension chain consisting, again, of dark blue glass beads and cut clear crystals. This last three inches is included in the 18" length total. The set in beautiful condition...no cracked or chipped beadsor missing stones. There is one little blemish on the back of one of the navettes in the metal setting. There is a small amount of discoloration. It has been cleaned and finished with an acrylic seal so that there is no roughness and no moisture from the skin or air will harm it. This small discoloration in no way dimishes the front or look of the necklace, even close-up. The entire necklace is assembled on very fine chain which was so typical of the earlier finely made Hobe` pieces. The clip backed earrings consists of a circle of dark blue glass beads and brass rondells that are wired to a filigree backing, and three individual cut crystals which are brass-pinned to the filigree back. The craftmanship and quality of Hobe` has continued from the beginning to about 1990, when the company was sold. The Hobe` name is still used, however, it is no longer associated with the original family-owned business. This is a necklace and earrings will look beautiful, whether worn separately or as a set...from office to theatre!
