Quality Taxco sterling Mexico silver brooch features a Mexican green onyx carved face encased in beautifully wrought sterling silver casing and headdress. This very three-dimensional brooch measures approximately 1-7/8 x 1-3/4" and has a safety closure. It is signed with the eagle mark three as well as the initials JH and what appears to be CRO as well as Taxco and .925 for sterling silver. The dating of the eagle mark is between 1948 and 1980 so this is our only dating clue. We believe this brooch is at the earlier part of the time frame. There is a minor chip on the right side of the chin of the face that is difficult to see unless you are looking for it. Otherwise, the pin is in Excellent Condition.
